Leave space for this next time you're in Sydney.
If you are flying into Sydney for a short trip and want to combine good food with great views, you can’t go past Dunbar House in Watsons Bay.
Offering meals that are not breakfast or lunch, but a bit of both, this is one not to miss.
The fully licensed café offers a tried and tested selection of simple staples by head chef Keith Murray, with breakfast comprised of all the usual suspects such as omelettes, buttermilk pancakes, waffles (pictured) and freshly squeezed juices.
From 12pm, it's time to make way for shared platters and heartier dishes. Indulge with a zucchini flower stuffed with feta and green olives before sinking your teeth into a Wagyu burger and fries – upmarket pub grub worth the price. Chicken and mushroom tortellini with English spinach and goat’s cheese also packs a punch. It is deliciously creamy.
Murray’s menu ticks boxes in the seafood department too. Seared snapper with ponzu dressing (Japanese dipping sauce of light soy, lemon and rice wine vinegar). Delicious and full of Omega-3 goodness, too.
Sweet tooth? Try the warm chocolate and raspberry pot with vanilla bean ice cream or the affogato topped with Frangelico, Kahlua, Amaretto or Baileys.
