Monadelphous has secured a one-year, $130 million extension to the facilities management services contract for Chevron's Gorgon LNG project.

The contract is for the operation and maintenance of construction facilities and utilities on Barrow Island.

The scope of services includes the operation and maintenance of water and wastewater treatment plants, power generation and distribution systems, as well as the management and maintenance of various buildings, vehicles, plant and equipment.

The original contract was secured in November 2009 for an initial three-year term.

About 175 people were employed as a result of the contract in the latest financial year.
