Rox Resources has been awarded three grants under the Western Australian government’s Exploration Incentive Scheme (EIS), totalling $100,000 to support exploration at the company’s Mt Fisher gold-nickel project in WA.

The Perth-based explorer said the co-funding would be allocated to under-explored areas within the Mt Fisher project, 450km north of Kalgoorlie, including the Mt Fisher and Dam gold prospects, and the Fisher East nickel prospects at Camelwood and Corktree. Under the EIS guidelines, the funding only covers direct drilling costs and Rox is required to match the $100,000 in funding.

“Given our recent success at Fisher East, this additional funding enables us to increase the pace and scope of our exploration efforts on these highly prospective tenements,” Rox managing director Ian Mulholland said.

“We would like to take this opportunity to thank the WA government for their support of the exploration sector.”

The first stage of the co-funded drilling at Fisher East was expected to be completed by the end of the first quarter, with the remainder completed during the year.
