New South Wales Labor MPs will create an independent probity panel to oversee the approval of mining licences. Opposition Leader John Robertson announced the measure at a Labor forum in Parramatta this morning. The unveiling of the plan comes as former NSW Labor ministers Ian Macdonald and Eddie Obeid face the Independent Commission Against Corruption over the granting of mining licences in the Bylong Valley.
